We were thrilled to attend a very special event on 1st May, when the Lord Provost hosted a reception in the European Room at the City Chambers to celebrate Granton Goes Greener’s nomination for the prestigious King’s Award for Volunteering.
Around 30 people attended the event, including our team of volunteers – many of course wearing pre-loved outfits from Share ‘n’ Wear – alongside representatives from key partner organisations and supportive funders. The nomination recognises the outstanding commitment and impactful work of Granton Goes Greener in fostering environmental sustainability within the local community.
The Lord Provost spoke of the collaborative spirit and tireless efforts of everyone involved, emphasising the significant positive difference their collective action has made. The reception provided a valuable opportunity for networking and acknowledging the vital contributions of each group. It served as a moment of pride and encouragement, highlighting the power of community-led initiatives in creating a greener future for Edinburgh.
